Votes: 1- clause to sever links between the abortion act and the Infant life preservation Act which resulted in the legislation of abortion up to birth. Many MPs did not realise this at the time of the vote.
2- a clause to allow abortion on the signature of one doctor allowed only to satate that the pregnancy has not exceeded 12 weeks.
3- a clause allowing abortion under Section (1) of the abortion act up to the twelfth week of pregnancy on the signature of only one doctor.
4- A proabortion ammendment making it mandatory for doctors who have a conscientious objection to abortion to report it to authorities who would be required to publish names for public scrutiny.in fact, a black list.( This was soundly defeated.)
5- Tory government ammendmentto prevent the Abortion Act being extended to Northern Ireland.
6- Prolife ammendment to try and limit the damage created by vote 1 ans stop abortion up to birth inserting instead an upper limit of 28 weeeks (prolifers lost the vote).
